Pushed Into It!! (but that's ok!!)

I have to admit that a friend of mine, Carla, asked about who blogs and who doesn't. I did admit to it but I have been so lazy about it-this is just the kick in the pants I need to get on track---thanks, Carla!!

Nathan my nephew is spending the day with me-he has so much energy that it's tough to keep up with him-he's 7 and all about the sports--hockey, baseball, basketball, tennis---anything sports related. So today we've played "aunties version" of baseball and basketball. Auntie doens't move much from her spot but Nathan moves alot---my strategy to get him to burn some energy off! (he is reading over my shoulder and now knows my secret!)

Here is a layout I did recently. All digi...enjoy and thanks again, Carla and IASST!!

At Long Last

I have lived here in Rhode Island for the last 35 years...ALL 35 years of my life. I love being here...all my family is around me and I feel comfortable here. Matt has always wanted to move south-I asked him to stay until Chrissy was done with high school~he has and she is nearly done. Now my time to live up to my end of the bargain. Matt left 22 days ago for Leland, North Carolina. I will join him at the end of September-once Chrissy is settled in at URI...her home for the next 4 years of her life. I can't believe how fast the time has gone...it truly seems as though I just brought her home from the hospital~wondering why they would let me leave with such a small helpless baby~I really had no clue what I was doing! I learned and learned fast. Now 17 years later, I'm getting ready to let her go. I have held her so tightly for so long that I'm not ready for this. I have let go a little...she has a steady boyfriend...so I have learned to let him in a little. Scary thoughts to come!
Anyway, trying to scrapbook some pictures. Here is a cute layout of my nephews wearing funky glasses. I really love the colors...not colors I normally scrap with but somehow they work and work well.

Goin' Digi

I truly enjoy scrapbooking. I've only scrapbooked the "old fashioned" way...paper, embellishments, etc.... I've been thinking about dabbling in the world of digital scrapbooking. There are so many talented sbers on the ckmb and so many of them scrap digi style. Looking at the layouts on the computer, you can't tell who's going "high tech" and who's not. In person, there is a big difference, thou. A big enough difference that I'm not sure if I'm going to like the one dimensional look. I decided to give it a try.

Plan A: I bought Photoshop Elements 5.0, bought a book and tried to figure it out!

Two weeks later, the book is going back to Barnes and Nobel-I don't think I understood one thing written!!

Plan B: Keep PSE 5.0 and venture on-line to find some tutorial videos. I stumbled upon http://www.jessicasprague.com/ . What a god sent!! Reasonably priced, easy to follow printable guides that walk you step-by-step through creating digi layouts!!

Here is my first EVER digital layout. I am so proud of how this came out! I'm hooked on digi!!!

Busy Day Getting Not Much Done...

Ever had one of those days where you don't really get a lot done, but you seem to have been super busy all day? That describes my Saturday. Waited up late last night for Christina to get in from the Patriot's football game. Her first time driving out of Rhode Island without an adult, so it doesn't surprise me that she got lost coming home. She took a wrong turn and ended up in North Providence. By the time she walked in the door, it was nearly 3:15!!! I was worried sick about her. Never bothered to call home and let us know she was lost. I'm struggling with her wanting her Independence and me wanting to hold on. I have one year left with her under my wing before she leaves for college. I want this year, her senior year, to be the best. So after sleeping in a little, got up, showered and watched a few of my favorite Saturday shows...On AETV, Big Spender followed by 2 episodes of Find and Design-my guilty pleasures.
Matt put some boxes in storage then bought me a new Armoire for all my scrapbooking things. They are taking over the house...I helped him put the beast together and before we knew it, it was almost 9. Matt is a very early riser, so by 8ish, he's ready for bed. Sore back, sore legs, muscle spasms everywhere. I'm sure I'll be super sore in the morning. It felt like a day of getting nothing done. I seemed to be busy though. Who knows!!! Maybe tomorrow I'll get more done. Christina is catering tonight, so I'm up waiting for her to get in. It could be a late night, it's a wedding. Glad she keeps busy...I hope to find time to clean out my scrap supplies tomorrow and put them in my new storage unit...The Big Beast!!!

This is a mini album I made during the ISST July cyber crop. It was my first real cyber crop and I loved it! This is a mini booklet about my pets...An older lab mix named Annie, A new puppy lab mix named Madison, Two cats brother and sister Ariel and Yago. They have the same mother, but different fathers. Ariel is tiger stripped and Yago is a beautiful shade of grey! I haven't added the pics to this album yet, but will do so soon! It's on my never ending list of things to do!!

Neglecting Chores?

So, haven't posted in quite a while. I think I'm spending too much time looking at other blogs and on the CKMB. I'll sit at the computer intending to just look at email and before long, it's been 2 hours. There is dog hair all over that I should be vacuuming, but instead, I'm at the computer. I have a stack of photo that need attention. Can't seem to get those scrapped!!

A few weekends ago, ISST had an on-line crop that I participated in. Had so much fun!! I will try and post some pics of things I made. I can't wait for their mini crop in October, then the BIG crop in December!!! If you love to create and would like to swap with others, leave me a message and I will tell you about the group I belong to!!
